Parsley

Parsley or kothimeera is one of the most effective ayurvedic medicines for menstrual disorders. It increases blood flow and assists in regularising the monthly cycle because it consists of apiol, which is a constituent of the female sex hormone estrogens.

Make a concoction of parsley, beetroot, carrot and cucumber juices to relieve menstrual cramps. The recommended quantity is 75 ml of each of the four juices. A woman who has given birth recently benefits from this method the most because along with relief from menstrual cramps, she also gets a wide variety of vitamins and nutrients that are beneficial for her and the baby.

Ginger

Ginger is also known as Allam in Ayurveda. Pound and boil ginger in a cup of water for a few minutes. Sweeten the infusion with sugar and drink thrice after meals for treating menstrual problems. If you are one of the health freaks, you may replace sugar with honey and drink this tonic first thing in the morning as soon as you wake up.

Sesame Seeds

Another ayurvedic medicine for menstrual disorders is sesame seeds or nuvvulu. Take half a teaspoon of sesame seeds powder with hot water twice daily. It acts as an excellent remedy for reducing spasmodic pain during menstruation in young, unmarried anemic girls.

If your bleeding is scanty, you must regularly use sesame seeds remedy two days prior to the expected date of your periods to cure the problem. A warm mid-waist bath containing a handful of crushed sesame seeds should be simultaneously taken along with this recipe.

Papaya

If your menstrual flow is improper, you must eat unripe papaya which helps muscle contraction of the uterus and thus ensure proper blood flow. Papaya is especially helpful when menstruation ceases due to stress or fright in young girls.
