About Lipoprotein (a) [lp(a)] Lab Test

Lipoprotein test is performed on a sample of blood to measure level of HDL Cholesterol, LDL Cholesterol, VLDL Cholesterol, Apolipoprotein A1 and Apolipoprotein B in blood.It is performed to confirm or detect Heart Disorder and Obesity and also during treatment and after treatment of Heart Disorder and Obesity.

The normal result for Lipoprotein for HDL Cholesterol is 40 - 49 mg/dll for Male gender and for All age groups, 50 - 59meq/dl for Female gender and for All age groups. LDL Cholesterol is < 100 mEq/dl for Unisex gender and for All age groups. VLDL Cholesterol is 2 TO 30 mg/dl for Unisex gender and for All age groups. Apolipoprotein A1 is > 120 mg/dl for Male gender and for All age groups, > 140 mg/dl for Female gender and for All age groups. Apolipoprotein B is < 130 mg/dl for Unisex gender and for All age groups.
