International Tolerance Day
16 November is the International Day for Tolerance. This date was chosen in 1995 by the United Nations in order to make us reflect and be aware of the need to live in peace and respect the right of others to be different even if we do not agree or approve that difference.
Today it is also a day to bring awareness and educate the public about the need for tolerance in our global society threatened by violence, discrimination, racism, and exclusion of ethnic, religious and socioeconomic minorities.
